Familia de la Noche have delivered workshops to over 2000 young people, specialising in devised theatre, improvised theatre, clowning, puppetry and interactive theatre.
The workshops we can offer vary from 2 hours skills sessions to 10 week residencies and everything in between. A few examples of programmes we have run:
A series of workshops running alongside the tour of The Greatest Liar in all the World – working with young people to introduce them to devised theatre, working with puppets and storytelling.
A 10 week residency to create a new version of Richard III for the Shakespeare Schools Festival with Central Foundation Boys School in London
A 2 term residency as part of the Lead Creative Schools scheme to create a new play based on Boy by Roald Dahl with young people aged 12 to 14 at Ysgol Dyffryn Taf in Carmarthenshire.
The skills learnt during the workshops have directly impacted on the work that the students are producing. They are more creative, imaginative and have a better understanding of the steps they need to take to succeed. It’s is great for them to work like this. The reason they were so engaged right from the start was due to the quality of the workshop. There was a shared exploration between the company and them and they genuinely felt that their opinions would be taken on board and mattered.
